The EV9 was honored with both the prestigious titles of World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle during a live announcement at the World Car Awards ceremony held at the New York Auto Show.

The accolades bestowed upon the Kia EV9 underscore its exceptional attributes, including its innovative design, spacious seven-seat interior, and competitive pricing. Built on the cutting-edge E-GMP platform, the EV9 represents Kia's first foray into fourth-generation battery technology, promising improved performance and enhanced driving dynamics.

Selected by a distinguished jury comprising 100 automotive journalists from 29 countries, the World Car Awards recognize outstanding achievements within the automotive landscape, serving as a beacon of excellence and leadership in the industry. Prior to the 2024 triumph, Kia had already clinched three World Car Awards, with the Telluride named World Car of the Year, the Soul EV winning World Urban Car, and the Kia EV6 GT securing World Performance Car of the Year in previous editions.
