Kia Canada Unveils Pricing for First-Ever Carnival Hybrid

Kia Canada has announced pricing and specifications for the 2025 Carnival Hybrid, marking the debut of a hybrid powertrain in the Carnival lineup. Set to arrive in Canadian dealerships in early 2025, this new model combines family-friendly utility with enhanced fuel efficiency.

Powertrain and Performance

The 2025 Carnival Hybrid features a 1.6L turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 242 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid system includes a 54kW drive motor, which Kia notes is the highest output among their hybrid models.

Fuel economy ratings for the Carnival Hybrid are impressive, with 6.9L/100 km in the city, 7.6 L/100 km on the highway, and a combined rating of 7.2L/100 km. Drivers can adjust regenerative braking levels using paddle shifters, allowing for greater control over energy recuperation and driving efficiency.

Design Updates and Trim Levels

The 2025 Carnival Hybrid showcases several design updates, including a new front-end featuring Kia's signature star map lighting, similar to that seen on the Kia EV9. The exterior is enhanced with gunmetal finishes on various elements and a new black grille and wheels. A 'dark edition' will be available on SX and SX+ trims for those seeking a more distinctive look.

Kia Canada has announced three trim levels for the Carnival Hybrid:

• LX+ HEV: $46,545 MSRP
• EX HEV: $49,445 MSRP
• SX+ HEV: $56,445 MSRP
