Kia Unveils New Features of the 2024 Kia EV9

The new 2024 Kia EV9 has been getting a lot of attention since it was first introduced to the market. Reservations for the new EV9 are now open, and Kia recently unveiled more information about its pioneering three-row electric SUV that you will learn more about below.

Design Features

Characterized by a harmonious blend of ruggedness and sophistication, the EV9's exterior is a sight to behold. Key design highlights include the Tiger Face grille, svelte LED headlights, and seamlessly integrated door handles. Its dimensions attest to its voluminous nature: a length of up to 5,015mm, a 3,100mm wheelbase, standing 1,780mm tall and spanning 1,980mm in width. For cargo needs, the EV9 is ample, boasting 573L with all seating in place, and an impressive 2,314L with the rear seats folded down. The luxurious feel is accentuated by dual-color ambient lighting, and those seeking additional flair can opt for the EV9 GT-Line, which offers model-exclusive touches including a bridge-type roof rail and specially designed 21-inch alloy wheels.

Impressive  Tech and Comfort Features

Inside, the EV9's cabin is replete with advanced technologies designed for the modern driver. A central console, spanning from the first to the second row, provides convenient storage solutions, while hidden-until-lit haptic switches contribute to a clutter-free aesthetic. Drivers will find real-time information effortlessly accessible through a full-color head-up display. Moreover, the Relaxation Mode ensures utmost comfort for passengers, providing power-operated leg rests coupled with heated and cooled seating options in select areas.

One of the standout features is the ultrawideband-based Digital Key, allowing users to transform their smart devices into virtual car keys, thus streamlining the unlocking process. Additionally, the EV9's new ccNC operating system promises swifter, clearer processing, with Quick Controls readily available via a simple screen swipe. The EV9 also pioneers in offering over-the-air updates for the vehicle system, complemented by navigation-based charging guidance.

Fully Electric EV Powertrain

Resting on the groundbreaking E-GMP platform, the EV9 is powered by fourth-generation battery technology, optimized for superior energy density. Canadian buyers have the choice between two configurations: a 99.8-kWh single-motor variant targeting a 480 km range or a more robust dual-motor setup that provides an awe-inspiring torque of up to 516 lb.-ft. The inclusion of column-type shift-by-wire, an integrated start button, and the capability to harness up to 350kW during DC charging cements the EV9's prowess. Its adaptability is further showcased through diverse terrain modes, ensuring optimal performance across snow, mud, and sand. Plus, for those with towing needs, the EV9 can handle up to 5,000 lbs.

Advanced Driver Assistance and Safety Features

Safety remains paramount for Kia, and the EV9 is a testament to that commitment. At the forefront is the enhanced Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA-2), designed to detect and mitigate potential collisions with vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. The Blind-Spot suite, inclusive of Collision Warning and View Monitor, assists in identifying vehicles from angles that might otherwise go unnoticed. Additionally, features like High Beam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Smart Cruise Control further augment the driver's safety toolkit. For parking endeavors, the Rear-View Monitor, Surround-View Monitor, and a myriad of other tools ensure that positioning the EV9 is always a hassle-free experience.

The 2024 Kia EV9 is more than just a vehicle; it's a declaration of Kia's visionary approach to the electric vehicle segment. Combining innovative design, cutting-edge technology, and a powertrain built for the future, the EV9 is not just a new vehicle — it's the future of the electric SUV market.
